URM’s interests outside of the business realm are far-reaching, having been a major supporter of communities since the inception of the company in 1971.

The company’s purposeful investments have been empowering communities for decades; including $1 million dollars in donations alone during the 2015 and 2016 financial years – and that figure is climbing! On top of that, we have made our biggest investment in our footy family to date, after signing on as major sponsors of the Manly Sea Eagles in 2017, a team we’ve been proudly supporting for more than two decades.

URM Managing Director Anthony Johnston has been supporting the Sea Eagles since he was a young kid growing up on the northern beaches.

In 1997, when the Australian Rugby League competition was split into two, and it was clear that some clubs would be lost in the amalgamated competition, I was approached to take the corners of Brookie mid-season as a large corporate sponsor had pulled out.

“Ultimately my decision to support the club came down to the experiences that I had had as a kid and the fact that I held the view that losing the club would be a huge loss to the northern beaches community.”

URM is proud to partner events big or small. The company is united in encouraging a positive difference where we work and live, and are dedicated to our mission to improve the quality of life and boost community spirit.

“Our goal is to help create healthy and vibrant communities all around. We dedicate our resources to sporting teams, fun runs, cultural events and programs that help disadvantaged people and those in need, young and old. We celebrate our role as innovative environmental leaders by lending a real hand in the local area through giving our time, talent, and financial aid to various events, organisations and projects.”

URM also support other sporting teams and events year round, such as the Rotary’s Pub2Pub Fun Run, The Little Big Swim at Palm Beach, Mosman Public School’s Mini-Mos, Balmoral Beach Club’s Swim for Cancer, the Blackmores Sydney Marathon, the Indigenous Sevens Rugby Ella 7’s and the Warringah Rats Rugby Club.

Other organisations and charities that URM are proud to sponsor include the School for Life Foundation, the Fight on the Beaches Charity, Broken Bay Game Fishing Club, Life Education and March into Merivale, as well as numerous local festivals around Sydney.
